Fire Drill This Week: The fire drill will be scheduled outside of DIBELS testing and will be dependent upon the weather as to date and time, but it will be scheduled for this week.
PTA General Meeting: This is a big day. Officers for next year will be selected. We encourage staff to attend so that we can guarantee a quorum to validate the meeting and elections.
MSP Almost Here: Our Carson scholars are just about to take the MSP. Our scheduled dates for testing are May 1, May 3, May 8 and May 10. We will be doing make-up testing during the in-between days (except Wednesdays) as well as the following week. If you are not MSP testing, please keep this in mind as you plan for any type of 'extra' activity. Our goal is to have a quiet week all around.
Summer School: The information regarding summer school was shared at the last Collaboration/Teaming Day. Our target date to have recommended students in rank order is May 4th. Please see your grade level peers, Barb Stroud or Arturo if you have questions or if clarification is needed regarding the selection criteria.
Staff Meeting: We will not be meeting for our staff meeting on Wednesday. Instead teachers will use this time to create class lists for next year. Debby, Barb, and Jennifer will be providing input to classroom teachers regarding best combinations for clustering those students they work with in their programs. This info was shared at the PACK Leadership meeting. If you have questions, see your rep, Andrea, or Arturo
Take Your Child to Work Day: Please let the office know if you will be bringing your child to work on Thursday. The following is info from the District: "This day is designed to help students between the ages of 8 and 15 make the connection between what they do in school and what career they may choose in the future. The day should be designed to introduce students to the world of a parent's career and the wide array of skills and services needed to support it. Students should have a written excuse stating that they were participating at the parent's workplace in order to have their absence excused. Staff members who bring their child to work should have their principal's or supervisor's prior approval and should observe the age range."
